Curious Improvers workshops are designed to help you unpack and delve deeper into different aspects of your yoga practice. Each edition has a specific theme, which we explore together over 3 weeks, helping you to understand and develop more stability and ease in your practice. Each session covers key principles, a warm-up flow, drills and skills exploration, and an asana lab, where we will put some of the ‘bigger’ yoga poses under the microscope.

In this 3-week Strength Edition we will explore the actions, anatomy, and mental approach necessary for:

  • Developing strength in legs, core and arms

  • Cultivating stability and integration in your asana practice

  • Recognising the function of the brain and nervous system in strength training and physical exercise

  • Exploring some of the ‘stronger’ poses, including chaturanga, crow transitions and headstand

  • Understanding the role of mindfulness and meditation in postural practice

This course is suitable for anyone who wants to build strength in and for their practice. No prior knowledge is required but you will get the most out of this if you have already practised yoga for a little while and are familiar with some of the foundation poses. You do not have to have attended any previous Curious Improvers sessions. Simply bring a curious mind, any questions and enjoy the ride!
