The next teachers' circle will contain a mini-training component about 'Trauma-informed approaches to teaching yoga'.
It will be interactive and facilitated within a circle format. In even the last 10 years, the way that teaching is approached in the UK has changed to reflect the greater awareness that society has around the effects of a wide range of trauma. For example, this could also include people who've felt traumatised by cancer treatment recognising that 1 in 2 people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
Join us for a reflective session to consider how we can refine the way we take a trauma-sensitive approach in general classes. Tessa is an experienced teacher and specialises in Yoga for Birth Trauma and Yoga for Anxiety having undertaken specialist training.
Come to the circle to experience being held in a circle space, have an opportunity to reflect on various poignant subject with fellow teachers.
Tessa is experienced in circle holding, having run a women’s circle in Caversham for 9 years. She has been writing a book called A Guide to Facilitating Talking Circles with Julia Davis of Yoga Teachers Forum. With 20 chapters completed it’s in the finishing stages!
