The course follows on from our Level 1 course building your confidence and experience of various yoga practises.
Like level 1 each week will include:
Breath work - calming the mind and nervous system
Postures - flexibility, mobility. Using a modified Ashtanga sequence.
Strength - how to build a sustainable practice
Meditation - on breath and postures helps us to feel fully absorbed and forget about our worries
In addition we will layer on some elements of the history and philosophy of Yoga giving you a much broader understanding of the practice.
Week 1: Where does Modern Yoga come from: An overview + Ashtanga/ Rocket
Week 2: Yoga Sutras: Stilling the Mind: Yin Yoga + pranayama practice
Week 3: Concept of Dhristi + 8 Fold Path: Vinyasa Yoga practice for physical health
Week 4: Concept of Dharana + Aum - other ways to find focus - Chakras, Mudras and Mantra
Week 5: Concept of Santosha - Contentment - Balance week for our practice
Week 6: Hatha Yoga Pradipika: Other offerings for our health from Yoga to explore
You will receive:
6 in studio classes with your peers taught by an experienced teacher (more than 5 years experience)
Weekly emails with practice and technique videos.
A free class for any of our weekly classes at the end of the course.
