Many of us are familiar with the 'inner critic' - the inner voice that criticises, shames and blames us when we make mistakes or tells us we aren't good enough. We can try to make it go away (e.g. overworking, people pleasing, distraction) but often these attempts are short-lived.
Join Dr Naomi Middleton (Clinical Psychologist, Yoga Teacher and IFS Therapist) to learn a different way of responding to your inner critic (and the other parts that show up alongside it). Naomi will introduce you to Internal Family Systems (IFS), an evidence-based form of psychotherapy which offers us an opportunity for deep healing. IFS views the inner critic as a part - a sub-personality of our inner world. Using IFS, we can befriend our inner critic, understand who it is protecting and what it wants for us.
In this workshop, you will learn an overview of IFS therapy and introduction to parts. You will be guided through an opportunity to get to know your inner critic (or another part if more relevant to you) and a gentle yoga practice to help integrate the inner work.
This workshop is suitable to all, including those new to yoga or therapy. Please note this is not a substitute for 1:1 therapy and is aimed as an introduction to help guide your own learning and healing.
