Our introduction to Pilates is a mat-based course using props and weights to really work your body awareness.
It will teach you the basics for a safe and effective Pilates practice, focusing on:
- foundational body movements for healthy and happy joints
- a series of exercises that are designed to challenge stabilisation through the core and at the same time provide flexibility and mobility to your body.
- posture and alignment and modifications to achieve maximum benefit from the exercises
- correct breathing patterns
- spinal and peripheral joint stability
During the course you will learn to improve the body's core strength, endurance and control.
During the course we will use props such as blocks, balls and resistance bands to add variety to the exercises and assist in muscle recruitment.
This course is taught by osteopath, who is also fully certified pilates instructor with over 10 years of teaching experience and clinical practice.
